Market has targeted women and women just are trapped.
Face is your identity. Body is your dignity. Face should be revealed. Body should be respected.
For men, there are other things which find more importance than this. Like their earnings, physical strength.
No girl questions , ‘I am not a product on display to sell myself!
Now I know debate will start. You can not quote one example blah blah. Fine.. ignore it.

men's fashion and choice of colours didn't change much from centuries. Except a few crazy film actors, some actors on screen, common people won't experiment much.
The targeted crowd for the fashion industry is upper middle class and above generally. Because , they don't roam around among public freely without their security.They don't travel in buses and other budget transports.
But women clothing is different. There is an invisible race to look better than others.
From inner wear to outer wear, of course now that difference between those two is decreased. That's different matter. Everything is designed for money making.
Not only short dresses. Drinks, cigerettes. How industry marketise them? As cool, trendy, fun, modern way of living! Happily laughing going to banks to deposit their money.
They are brainwashed by constantly saying traditional dresses are old fashioned. They don't look hot and sexy in them. As if looking hot and sexy is the most and only expected thing from girls.
Starting from lingerie to party wear, office wear, college wear, swim wear, the competition starts. New trends, exclusive customised wear, what not?
Short clothes are available for men too but formally they do not wear it and there is no race among them. They are happy with their knickers or half pants or full pants. Feel happy they are trend setters for women. Men don't like to dress as women but many women love to dress like men with little changes here and there.
One thing is for sure, when people especially men stop looking at them women will realise the trend is no more attractive, drawing only wrong crowds. Then they may change. Because we all know, we dress just not for ourselves alone. We need appreciation from others. Otherwise you don't need these many trends. you see many people in their pazamas.

Same with women fashion. Long and tight clothes are not comfortable for both genders. Still they wear because it's convenient to drive, climb travel and other jobs.

A simple body wash and moisturizer is enough for many men. I am not talking about models ,actors etc.
Women are easy to trap. One short dress gives food to a vast industry of beauty products. Waxing, bleaching, threading, laser treatment, tan treatment, sun screens, unwanted hair removing, even birth marks removal if it's in wrong place making long legs or arms ugly, about fairness products, better not to talk.
It's matter of fashion and to some extent comfort, to some extent to show the rebellious nature in them.
Today there are women smokers , drinkers everywhere.
Only some particular fields require that kind of look to marketise themselves.
Who is losing money to them?
The more skin you show, the more you will need to maintain it. All these cosmetics brands are living on your exposed body. Do you understand that? Capitalists are experts in brainwashing people. Making money out of your body with out your knowledge.
In short, Feminism definition is changed slowly in to, freedom to wear short clothes.
Modern wear means short wear. Not comfortable loose wear, cotton wear according to the climate, etc etc.
Fashion industry ‘s definition for ‘attractive woman’ is short cloths. Traditional wear is un attractive, gives village country side look.
Less clothes compared to men…
You should convey your personality, aura, your confidence to the world not body I believe. People should respect and see that in you. If you want to convey your body vitals also for free, it's up to you.
For men pants and shirts are comfortable in our hot climates? Except in North eastern or Himalayan range or in extreme cold conditions, it's the most uncomfortable dress. Still, the wear because it's convenient than comfort.
As long as you don't need to sit cross legged for hours, as long as you don't need a small pillow or something to cover your thighs when you sit, as long as you don't need someone to cover your back when you bend, as long as people look in to your eyes and speak not at your low neck or high thighs , whatever you wear doesn't matter.
This kind of low levels women are pushed into. Self marketing is labelled as confidence, self esteem and empowerment, independence.
Women wear short skirts, two button open shirts or low cut dresses in office too.
Observe how they show working women in ads and commercials!! you will know why women clothes are getting shorter and shorter. They are money mints.
Comfortable dress doesn't mean only shortest dress.
Sometimes I feel when there are many good points to learn from western society, why we are learning only wrong things? May be mental slavery or colonial hangover must be the reason.
